Parental Support

Individual Support for Parents and Carers

Sometimes it is not always necessary for a therapists to work with a child/young person directly. It maybe that the parent/carer can be seen either as a one off or more regularly depending on the issue. Consultation including supporting parents to access alternative support if appropriate helps us to ensure that we offer a holistic service of support. For further details on this service, please contact us.

The Strengthening Families, Strengthening Communities Parenting Programme

Raising children and young people can be rewarding as well as challenging. It is during the challenging periods of child development that we may need support and guidance. Group work such as parenting programmes can help us to feel less isolated as we begin to realise that other parents/carers are going through similar difficulties. Often this network of people, after the programme has finished continue to practically support each other.

The Strengthening Families, Strengthening Communities, parenting programme is an evidence based programme that helps parents/carers understand their children’s behaviour and how this can be influenced by a particular development stage that the child is going through. You will be provided with resources to minimise conflict, improve your relationship with your child and help you to set boundaries.

These programmes are always faciliated by two qualified and experienced trainers who will have the added benefit of being qualified therapists.
